The Problem

Travelers need a fast, visual way to browse properties, evaluate details, and book — with hosts needing an equally simple way to list their space

Process

• Planned the core user flows: browsing/search → property detail page → booking → host listing submission
• Built responsive layouts mobile-first, so property photo galleries and booking forms work cleanly from phone to desktop
• Implemented interactive components with JavaScript/jQuery — photo galleries, wishlist toggling, review display, filtering
• Structured the property-hosting form to capture listing details in a way that's simple for hosts but produces consistent, well-formatted data on the front end

Key Decisions

• Used a card-based grid for listings instead of a table layout, since it scans faster and translates directly to mobile
• Built the photo gallery as a lightweight custom component rather than a heavy plugin, to keep page load fast.

Technical highlights

• Responsive, cross-browser-compatible layout across all core pages
• Clean, semantic HTML structure for maintainability.
